Social awareness project (Michelle)

How can we create awareness of the mental health issues developed through the use of social media. You can use social media and create a page to promote awareness and get people to share the page and in turn gain more publicity. Also you could create some sort of media material such as a short film or documentary to promote mental health issues. Our idea: An advert for a website that helps people who are addicted to social media stop being addicted. We have chosen to create this because, as a group, we feel that in today’s society, there are lots of people, especially teens, are addicted to social media and it’s taking over our lives. We want to raise awareness and show our target audience that they can get help via our website dedicated to helping those who suffer from addiction to social media.  Our approach: We are taking inspiration from TLC’s “my strange addiction” and are going to have a character who is addicted to social media and we are going to help him stop...

Smashing Stereotypes Reflection

Outline your idea for the Smashing Stereotypes project and your reasons for choosing this idea ● Which professional media products inspired you and how? ● How well did you manage your time and resources throughout the planning, production and post- production phases? ● Which theory points might be relevant to your finished product? How and why, use examples taken from your piece ● What have you learned from this project that might be useful for the next project / FMP? ● Bibliography / list of references Our smashing stereotype  project had a concept of  the idea about ''don't judge a book by its cover''. The reason for us choosing to do this is because  we believe in today's generation and society  people cannot be themselves without having a label on them, for example a male may act feminine  however will still get labelled as ''gay''.  The reason behind us choosing this idea is because its a good way to get our message across about not...

Bertolt Brecht

Image
Bertolt Brecht was a famous German playwright and poet.   Brecht started to write political poetry and plays at an early age about social issues. He was branded a troublemaker at school and got expelled for writing anti-war poems .  Brecht became interested in Karl Marx’s Theories of Socialism. Brechtian film uses an anti-illusionistic style of presentation. It replaces the hypnotized spectator with the critical, rational one. The focus shifts from action and outcome to argument and analysis, using devices such as intertitles and commentary.  Verfremdungseffekt was used to direct the audience’s attention to something new. This was done by getting the scene started, and then doing something unexpected. When the rhythm is interrupted, the audience stops getting lost in the emotion, story and characters. They are able to start to think and question.
